Unlock Your Style Code: A Holistic Approach to Personal Styling

Great style is within everyone’s reach, but mastering how to style yourself requires more than just following trends—it’s about understanding how to express your unique beauty and personality through clothing, accessories, hair and makeup. As a holistic personal stylist, my goal is to help you curate an authentic look that not only enhances your natural features but also aligns with your personality, lifestyle, values and aspirations.
I believe that we each have a set of 'style lines' (what I call your Style ID), found in our facial features and body lines and shape. Over the twentieth century, personal styling theories evolved, with key figures such as Belle Northrup, Harriet McJimsey, David Kibbe and Dwyn Larson offering insights into body type styling. While Kibbe’s system, introduced in Metamorphosis (1987), has been influential, Larson expanded on it in the early 2000s, offering a more detailed and comprehensive approach through her platform, 'All Types of Beauty.'

From my analysis of clients, I’ve found that only about 25% align strictly with Kibbe’s body types, while the remaining 75% resonate with Larson's expanded system. By refining Larson’s analysis, I’ve developed a calculation that balances bone structure, body features and facial characteristics to create an accurate individual style profile. This balanced formula produces consistent and effective results, ensuring that the analysis results are a realistic reflection of your unique beauty.

My formal journey into styling began in 2015 when I studied Image Consulting with ByFerial, including learning the 4x4 Color System. I also trained as a Make Up Artist at the London School of Makeup in 2016. Since then, I’ve continued my studies in colour theory, evolving my understanding to find each person's most beautiful and enhancing colours. Unlike the more systematic seasonal colour analysis, the Artistic Colour Analysis uses your natural colouring and features and applies the fundamentals of colour theory, the colour requirements of your Style ID, as well as your elemental and archetypal energies to create a holistic and individual colour palette, that suits you perfectly.

In addition to this, I’ve explored the work of personal stylists, who work with energetic impressions, such as John Kitchener's 'Essences.' Taking a deeper dive into the underlying construction of these energies or essences and drawing on my extensive reading of Jungian psychology, I began to connect both the Jungian archetypes and cognitive functions, with appearance and style. I wrote the 16 Style Personality Guides to help you to discover your authentic style through your personality type. The Psychological Style Analysis Service provides a deep dive into how you can best express yourself through style, with specific personal recommendations.
